Finding the One

Having worked in real estate for years, Barry Rolton and Nicole Weber know a growth area when they see one. So it’s no surprise that the owners of real estate company ONE AGENCY Waimakariri chose to move their business operation into central Kaiapoi.

“As a central point to the district, Kaiapoi was our preferred location,” explains Barry. “The Waimakariri District Plan has some exciting prospects for the regeneration of the Kaiapoi centre. There’s a real buzz around the town, about how it might look over the next few years and we’re keen to be a part of this.”

ONE AGENCY Waimakariri has been operating from Pegasus since it was established in 2018, but the news of a new office development in central Kaiapoi made owners Nicole and Barry think about where they wanted to be positioned to best provide real estate services to the wider Waimakariri region.

“We had been looking for a location for our office and after hearing about this development, then meeting the developer Andrew Wenborn, we loved the design concept and its prominent position. With cafes, restaurants, a supermarket and being situated on a busy roundabout on Kaiapoi’s main street, we love the exposure for our company in this location,” says Nicole.

The office, due to open in April 2020, is located at the intersection of Williams and Charles Streets, sitting opposite the new Riverview Retail Complex and the ENC Clocktower building. The development will also house Corcoran French Lawyers and a selection of boutique retail and hospitality outlets.

“Its easy access to Christchurch and the greater North Canterbury region makes this Kaiapoi location a perfect place to call home,” says Barry. “It’s fantastic to see companies such as Misco Joinery and the proposed Aquasports Park making a commitment to this community. These large ventures not only bring in new employment to the region but help revitalise Kaiapoi as not only a commuter town but somewhere you can live, work and play.”

Nicole adds, “The town has had a hard time since the earthquakes, but the resilience and passion of this community are what makes this place so special.  We are really looking forward to the future in Kaiapoi.”
