Nominations Open for 2025 North Canterbury Business Awards

It’s that exciting time again—nominations for the 2025 North Canterbury Business Awards are officially open! Anyone can nominate a local business via the ENC website, offering a fantastic opportunity to recognise the amazing contributions of North Canterbury’s diverse business community.

“The nomination stage is so important,” says Guy Graham, organiser of the North Canterbury Business Awards. “It’s often the first step for businesses who might not have thought about entering. A nomination from a customer, supplier, or even a competitor can spark their interest, boost their confidence, and lead them to take part—and sometimes even win.”

Businesses are also encouraged to nominate themselves to ensure they receive all the latest Business Awards updates, tips, and support ahead of the official entry period, which kicks off in June.

Since their launch in 2008, the North Canterbury Business Awards have been held biennially, celebrating the region’s best in business—from innovative startups to well-established enterprises. This year, the awards continue to welcome businesses from Hurunui, Waimakariri, and Kaikōura, reflecting ENC’s commitment to supporting the entire North Canterbury region.

Following the nomination process, the awards will be officially launched on June 12^th at the Waimakariri/Hurunui information evening  at the Better Half Kitchen with entries opening the following day. June 19^th will see an additional information evening at the Sudima Hotel, specifically for Kaikōura businesses. Entries close on August 15^th, with judging taking place throughout August. Then, on October 31st, the awards culminate in a spectacular Gala Evening at MainPower Stadium in Rangiora, where all winners and runners-up are announced.
