Enterprise North Canterbury (ENC) is proud to launch its first major digital brand campaign, Proud to be Here, on 1 August 2025. The campaign is designed to build regional pride, elevate local business stories, and showcase why more and more people are choosing North Canterbury as a place to live, work, and do business.
Running throughout August, the campaign will profile familiar faces behind some of the region’s most well-known and innovative businesses. From family-run operations to globally recognised brands like Rodin Cars, the campaign will share a new story each day across social media and digital platforms, culminating in the release of North Canterbury’s first-ever hero video.
“This campaign is a fun, inspiring way to share and celebrate business success in North Canterbury,” says Alissa Wilson, Business Development Manager at Enterprise North Canterbury. “It highlights the incredible depth and breadth of businesses in our region—many of which fly under the radar but are doing remarkable things.”
The Proud to be Here campaign also demonstrates how local entrepreneurs and business owners are turning to digital platforms and social media to connect with customers, scale their reach, and grow their impact.
“Our community plays a huge role in the success of these businesses,” says Wilson. “What we’re seeing is that entrepreneurship is thriving here—remote workers, creatives, start-ups, manufacturers, and everything in between. We wanted to unearth those stories and share them far and wide.”
The campaign is also part of ENC’s long-term strategy to strengthen and unify the North Canterbury brand. Over the past year, ENC has developed www.northcanterbury.co.nz, a dedicated platform for anyone looking to live, work, or do business in the region.
“We’re building a strong, cohesive, and aspirational regional brand,” Wilson says. “We hope our new website will become a go-to resource, and this campaign helps build on that momentum.”
